 The Seafood Centre @ Galway Bay Seafoods, are the first to win the BIM Seafood Circle 'Seafood Specialist of the Year'  2010

 

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board announced in January 2010 that 'The Seafood Centre' at Galway Bay Seafoods had been awarded the inaugural BIM Seafood Circle 'Seafood Specialist of the Year, 2010'. This new and prestigious award is only presented to seafood retailers that exceed the stringent high standards set by the Seafood Circle, an initiative developed by BIM which recognises and supports retailers and hospitality outlets that consistently offer top quality seafood to their customers.

Donal Buckley, Business Development and Innovation Manager with BIM explains how the Seafood Circle is of benefit to members and customers;

 "Congratulations to Noel and John and all the staff at the Seafood Centre. They have worked extremely hard to develop all areas of their business and they truely deserve this award for their Seafood Centre. Their dedication to qaulity and excellent customer service is core to the Seafood Circle initiative and we are pleased to announce an additional 20 members this year providing a total of 175 members nationwide. GALWAY BAY SEAFOODS ON FRESH FROM THE SEA 

 

Galway Bay Seafoods are delighted to announce that they are to feature on "Fresh from the Sea" on RTE 2, next Tuesday June 22nd at 7pm. The series, which attracted over 1.75 million viewers last autumn, follows chef, food writer and TV presenter Clodagh McKenna as she meets various fishermen, processors and producers around the Coast of Ireland. Galway Bay Seafoods were chosen to feature on the show as their Seafood Centre at New Docks was recently awarded the BIM Seafood Circle "Seafood Specialist of the Year" from over 150 entrants around Ireland. Located less than 2 minutes from Galway City Centre at New Docks, quality and commitment to the customer is at the heart of Galway Bay Seafoods.  The  modern, purpose built production facility along with ongoing training for 28 members of staff ensures that quality of fresh fish sold through the award winning Seafood Centre is never compromised. The Seafood Centre was also recently awarded the Q Mark for Food Hygiene and Safety which underlines the company’s commitment to quality. Galway Bay Seafoods also offer a loyalty card to their dedicated customers that allows them receive a 10% discount on purchases and exclusive text alerts and Ezines. It has proved so successful that over 2000 people have now signed up.

Fresh from the Sea, will feature Clodagh McKenna getting a tour of the Seafood Centre by brothers Noel and John Holland and will see Clodagh give a cookery demonstration in the onsite Cookery School.

National Q Mark Awards 

GALWAY BAY SEAFOODS has been short-listed for a National Q Mark Award for Hygiene and Food Safety. 

The star studded National Q Mark Awards ceremony, which takes place on Friday 24thSeptember, will see over 230 companies converge on Dublin’s Burlington Hotel to battle it out for the 25 Q Mark Awards.

“We are delighted to have been short listed as a finalist in the Hygiene and Food Safety Category.
